The Pierre Janet Centre (PJC) at the University of Lorraine is committed to developing and innovating in the field of psychotherapy. Its mandate includes research, training, and counselling. Researchers and practitioners at PJC have been investigating the use of digital solutions for several years, recognizing the potential impact of new communication tools and technologies on the field of psychotherapy.
The research conducted by the Centre has resulted in the development of a Virtual Psychotherapy Environment (VPE) – a digital platform that enables professionals to receive online training and access information to better support their more vulnerable patients. The VPE has four main aims: to educate, train, stabilize and treat; the question remains, however, whether these priorities effectively meet the needs of practitioners.
The Centre will use Polygon’s Concept Mapping (CM*) tool to define the content of the VPE based on the perspectives of mental health care professionals. Polygon will also provide scientific support to analyse the results, helping PJC to better understand future VPE users and identify any gaps or unmet needs.
